There has been a lot going on behind the scenes in regards to the next update for The Tomorrow Children 2D. Due to the software that was originally used, the game had previously reached a maximum code limit which had impacted additional features from being added. The last few months have been concentrated on Optimizations to reduce the amount of code and assets throughout the game. The only feature that has been removed in the process was an easter egg Thank You to Q-Games that could be activated during the original Tutorial Introduction. With the optimizations, improvements have already been underway including speed improvements, additional feedback to when buildings run out of power, a bugfix for fixing food so that it now slowly decays when a town has population, and many additional backend changes to improve loading, performance, and tracking. Work will continue to be done to further optimize before attempting to add in any major features. Below is a list of assets, features, and improvements that are planned to be added for Version 1.1 in the near future.
- Day and Night Cycle improvements
- Phone Support Control Improvements
- Initial Online Functionality
- A new statistics screen and upgrade screen
- The ability to return back to the main menu without leaving the application
There are a large amount of additional features planned to be added once version 1.1 releases but it is uncertain if they can be added before reaching the maximum code limit again. This will be monitored before any additional feature announcements are made. Thank you for the support and there will be a Patch Note Thread created as soon as the Patch releases.
